22 Jan A free training opportunity for governors from Think Global
Think Global is a membership charity that works to educate and engage people about global issues. We work with schools, businesses and NGO’s to help people learn how they can play a part in creating a more just and sustainable world. Our members share our vision that everyone should have opportunities to understand the global challenges we face and develop the capabilities to create a more just and sustainable world. See http://www.think-global.org.uk
Think Global works to support and develop schools’ and teachers’ practice on global learning. Putting learning in a global context involves supporting young people to make sense of their lives by understanding the global interconnections we all have. For teachers across the UK, we run the global dimension website www.globaldimension.org.uk
FREE training opportunity for governors
Are you a school governor interested in ensuring that your school ethos prepares students to face the challenges of a globalised world? What does global learning really mean? How can it bring the school curriculum to life and raise learning standards? How can global learning activities (such as international days, international linking, eco schools etc) support Ofsted requirements?
This free training will give governors the opportunity to consider how to get a whole school community engaged with global learning, through looking at Think Global’s new guidelines for a ‘Global Learning School.’
The training will cover the following topics:
- What does global learning mean?
- How can global learning benefit my school?
- How can I get school leaders, students and teachers all on board?
