Modern Governor New ModuleWe’re delighted to announce the release of another new Modern Governor e-learning module.

Modern Governor is a suite of e-learning modules designed especially for School Governorswhich covers a range of important governance topics.  Because the modules are accessed online, they enable busy School Governors to access good quality, highly interactive e-learning at any time.

“Governance of a Church School” has been developed with the involvement of the Dioceses of Chester and York.

In this module, you’ll explore Church Schools: how they were founded and how they’re run. You’ll take a look at the different types of Church School – Voluntary aided (VA), Voluntary-controlled (VC), Foundation Schools and Academies. You’ll learn about the role of a Governor in a Church School and you’ll discover the behaviours and actions that can help your school become an excellent example of Christian faith and teaching.  View more information here.

This module focuses on the ethos of schools within the major Christian denominations.  We’re keen to develop modules which talk about what it means to be a Governor at schools of other faiths. I’d really like to hear from anyone that could help us develop this module further, so please do get in touch.

OK, looks interesting, but how do I get access to the module? I am a governor at a C of E school in Oxfordshire.

Hi Robert – send me an email with your school details. If your school already subscribes via Oxfordshire CC I’ll send you the instructions on how to login. If not, I’ll let you know how to get subscribed!

    Best wishes
