Leadership and ManagementEffective leadership and management in local government should always be a main priority but it is not always an area which is given suitable training and support.

Good leadership and management training helps learners understand themselves and the impact they have on others. It’s about challenging assumptions, exploring possibilities, taking risks and learning from mistakes.

Great leadership and management is important each and every day but with increasing budget cuts the ability for managers to respond to change with openness and project this attitude throughout their organisation is becoming ever more vital.

There is no universal approach to leadership and management training but examples of best practice are great learning resources.

For this reason we’re creating video interviews with people in local government who are either leaders or managers themselves or are rolling out training on this topic to others in an engaging and interactive way.

Please share your own experiences on this topic or suggest someone you feel is a great leadership and management ambassador.

In keeping with Learning Pool’s sharing ethos, the videos we create will be made available for free to our online community and the public sector.
