Safeguarding and school governance

This module looks at the legal context of safeguarding as it relates to governance in schools and academies along with the roles and responsibilities of governors and trustees. The module explores what safeguarding means in the context of a school and looks at the policies, procedures and practices which those in governance should be aware of and are responsible for. Finally, the module looks at how a school’s culture can foster an environment in which all are involved in ensuring that effective safeguarding takes place.
