13 Mar Modern Governor joins with Herts for Learning to support school governance across England
Herts for Learning (HfL), the largest schools company in the UK dedicated to improving education for young people is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Modern Governor to support and develop strategic leadership in schools and academies across England.
Modern Governor is the leading online governance learning solution for local authorities, multi-academy trusts and individual schools & academies. Established and run by Learning Pool, the e-learning specialist for local government in the UK, it offers more than 60 mobile-ready e-learning modules and the popular Modern Governor mobile app – with over 99% of users recommending the service to their governance colleagues. The new arrangement will see HfL take the lead role in developing and delivering Modern Governor as part of its wider school improvement offer.
Customers will continue to enjoy the flexibility and accessibility of the Modern Governor offer but with the additional support and knowledge available under the umbrella of Herts for Learning’s school improvement team, which delivers local and national programmes to improve and support education. Modern Governor’s support desk will be extended to offer governance advice and guidance to those customers who would benefit from this.
Andrew de Csilléry, Managing Director of HfL said
“HfL has been supporting school governance for many years both inside and outside of Hertfordshire. We offer a range of related services including the provision of training to around 10,000 school governors each year. We are delighted to be working with Learning Pool to further develop the Modern Governor proposition to the benefit of existing and future customers.”
Learning Pool Founder Paul McElvaney commented
“We’re delighted to have agreed this exciting partnership with HfL. Modern Governor has been an important part of our service offering since 2009 and we’re proud to have made a difference in helping school governors & trustees – particularly those newly-appointed to their roles – understand their responsibilities better and use that knowledge to improve outcomes for learners. I’m confident that HfL will take the service on an exciting journey and I’m looking forward to supporting them to achieve their aims”.
Since 2014 Modern Governor has been led by Ian Usher who will continue in a broader role as Head of Learning Innovation within HfL. “Herts for Learning is uniquely placed in the school improvement sector due to its ownership and oversight by schools” said Ian, “and under its guidance Modern Governor can improve further”.
