15 Jan New CEO for School Governor Recruitment Charity SGOSS
SGOSS is pleased to announce it has appointed a new CEO, Liz McSheehy, to take over from Steve Acklam, who retired after working with SGOSS since 1999. Liz is an experienced CEO and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from roles in government, the regions and third sector, with skills and education being a significant theme throughout her career. “I am delighted to be joining SGOSS at such an exciting time for the charity, when the importance of high quality school governance is paramount to sharpen accountability, to give freedom and flexibility and to support and inform. SGOSS is well placed to continue to provide and develop an enhanced service to business, schools, local authorities and volunteers”.
Clifford Burroughs, Group IS and Lean Director at United Biscuits and Chair of the Board of Trustees of SGOSS, said, “We are delighted that Liz has been appointed following a rigorous recruitment process. The Board looks forward to working with her as we continue to build and deliver a first-class service from SGOSS”.
2013 is set to be an important year for SGOSS with the launch of a new SGOSS recruitment video, two skills specific recruitment campaigns targeting people in the legal and financial sectors, and the usual requirement of meeting ambitious recruitment and placement targets. Liz adds, “I am excited – we have a clear vision for a positive future, but I am also relishing the challenges that go with reaching our goals and aspiring to higher ones. I am confident myself and the team can build on the good performances through 2012.
