Safer Internet Day 2013 logoSafer Internet Day (SID) is organised by Insafe in February of each year to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. Safer Internet Day 2013, (Tuesday 5 February 2013) is the tenth edition of the event.

The theme for the day was ‘Online rights and responsibilities’, encouraging users to ‘Connect with respect’.

New digital technologies offer a wealth of opportunities for children and young people – they can learn, create and communicate in ways that we would never have imagined when we were younger! But with these new found freedoms comes a new responsibility, how do we keep our young people safe?
