03 Jul What you thought of #GovernorLive
Last week on 25th June we held the first ever unconference for school governors – #GovernorLive. More than 150 governors came along, bringing enthusiasm and a dedication to their role that made the sun shine a little brighter.
We set up an online feedback form for all delegates to let us know what they thought of the day (well, we are an e-learning company, after all. We couldn’t really distribute paper happy sheets, could we!).
Here are just a few of the things people took away from #GovernorLive:
“How has #GovernorLive encouraged you to approach school governance differently?”
“By giving me confidence in my approach with the questions I need to ask.”
“The need for the right skills on the Governing body and everyone pulling their weight.”
“It has made me think much more strategically and has given me the tools and confidence to go back to my GB and start to implement improvement.”
“I am developing a presentation of some of the ideas I brought away from the day to deliver at the next full governors meeting.”
“What was the highlight (or highlights!) of #GovernorLive for you?”
“Having the opportunity to meet other Governors and share experiences. Listening and learning.”
“The quality of the speakers and the focused talks they gave. Also the chance to meet and talk with governors from all over the country The morning presentations were very good – informative & pithy. Always useful to talk to other governors.”
“Meeting and supporting the initiating members of @UKGovChat. Meeting and thanking Shena Lewington of C2G for all she has provided to help me during the last two years. Once again to be able to share everyday governance experiences, but with the added feature of doing it on a national basis. The inspiring and grounded speakers, and the very able Mr Briggs.”
“The speaker from the DfE was very good. In fact all of the speakers were good.”
